Traditional Corfiot Cuisine at Mirtiotissa Beach

Perched on the cliff-top above Mirtiotissa Beach, Elia Restaurant has a well earned reputation for both the quality of the dishes it serves and the freshness of the ingredients that go into them.

Owned and run by Stefanos, Maria and family, the restaurant uses only fresh produce in its kitchen - much of which is grown on their nearby farm and market-garden. This includes fruit and vegetables; olives and olive oil; grapes and wine; eggs and nuts. In addition, herbs are gathered from the surrounding fields and either used fresh or dried. Water comes from their spring and honey from local beehives.

We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and as well as a variety of dishes from the Greek mainland, Elia serves the classic cuisine of Corfu: Pastisada (beef cooked in a red sauce and served with pasta); Sofrito (beef in a parsley and garlic sauce); Stifado (beef stewed with baby onions); Pastitsio (layers of macaroni and meat sauce); Bourdeto (a hot and spicy salt cod casserole); and Bianco (fish in a garlic and white wine sauce). All these dishes are cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven by Stefanos himself. (Dishes change on a daily basis depending on what is currently in season.)

If you are in a group and there is something you would especially like us to cook then please let us know a day or two in advance. We are always happy to oblige! (Minimum 10 persons.) The restaurant can also be booked for events and celebrations such as birthdays, children's parties, weddings, dinner parties etc.

Mirtiotissa Beach (Corfu's unnoficial nudist beach) is about 250 metres further down the hill and Elia makes a cool and convenient place to enjoy a drink or a snack between swims. In the evening you can sit at the bar and enjoy a wide selection of local and imported beers, wines and spirits. There is plenty of free parking for those using the restaurant.

The restaurant is open from the beginning of May until the end of October and accommodation is available if required. Every couple of weeks we have a musical evening and Elia can also cater for weddings, baptisms and other celebrations.
